Background
In order to efficiently develop and sustain any endeavor, a solid foundation must first be built. This section is intended to introduce:
- The terminology used in dialect documentation
- Standardized ways of expressing information about the data (Metadata Dialects)
- How that foundation can be expanded upon to enhance consistency and interoperability in communities that have a variety of metadata requirements, existing metadata dialects, and management systems (Documentation Guidance Methods).
