Douglas Rao

I am pleased to run for President of the Earth Science Information Partners (ESIP). Having served as the Vice President for the last two years, I have a great appreciation for our community's dedication to advancing Earth science data stewardship, innovation, and collaboration. I am looking forward to help lead ESIP into its next chapter during these challenging times.

As President, my priorities would be:

Elevating ESIP's Strategic Impact: Focusing our collective expertise on addressing critical Earth science challenges and ensuring ESIP is a leading voice in national and international data policy and practice.

Empowering Our Community: Strengthening support for our diverse members, clusters, and committees, fostering an inclusive environment where innovation thrives, and mentoring the next generation of Earth science information leaders.

Forging Strategic Alliances: Expanding ESIP’s collaborations with government agencies, academic institutions, and private industry to broaden our reach, resources, and impact.

ESIP is a unique and vital organization. I am committed to harnessing our collective strengths to achieve our shared goals and to ensure ESIP continues to be a leader in the Earth Science information community.

I am enthusiastic about the opportunity to serve as your President and would be honored to receive your vote.
